ActiveCampaign focuses on reaching your business goals while lessening the number of emails you send out to your mailing list. ActiveCampaign boasts a great set of features, but how does ActiveCampaign pricing measure up to its results?
Today, we’re taking a closer look at how much ActiveCampaign costs to determine if it’s worth the price.

ActiveCampaign pricing: how much does it cost?
ActiveCampaign can cost your business as little as $9 a month. The price depends on the number of subscribers you have and the features you get also varies depending on the plan you choose.
Unlike other platforms, ActiveCampaign’s pricing isn’t as straightforward as other platforms. Pricing starts at 500 subscribers with the option to expand your mailing list to over 100,000 subscribers in the future.
Moreover, ActiveCampaign’s plans aren’t determined entirely on how many subscribers you have. Regardless of your number of subscribers, you’ll be able to choose between any of the four features the platform has to offer.
Take a look at their plans and pricing below:
Lite plan
The lite plan is ActiveCampaign’s cheapest option. Pricing starts at $9 a month and can run you upwards of $500. Take a look at the features that come with the plan below:
Monthly pricing according to your number of subscribers:
Annual pricing according to your number of subscribers:
The Lite plan is best suited for any business who wants a simple and straightforward email marketing platform. You’ll be able to send out customized emails and marketing automations using the platform’s easy to use builder. However, there are certain drawbacks such as:
Summary: The Lite plan is better suited for your business if you want to focus solely on sending out automations, newsletters, and email. It also allows you to build a subscription form for capturing leads which is ideal if you want to grow your mailing list on the platform.
Plus plan
The Plus plan starts at $49 each month and can cost upwards of $400. This plan comes with everything from the Lite plan as well as some other features:
Monthly pricing according to your number of subscribers
Annual pricing according to your number of subscribers:
The Plus plan is best suited for businesses who want better opportunities for customer engagement and maintaining a good relationship with your customer. The SMS tool allows you to connect with your subscribers through means other than emails which often go unopened or ignored.
However, it’s also not perfect. Here are some of the Plus plan’s cons:
Summary: The Plus plan is best suited for you if you utilize Facebook marketing frequently and if you want to capitalize on the possibilities of SMS marketing. Moreover, you’ll also be able to build landing pages and have access to numerous integrations. However, it is quite expensive.
Professional plan
The Professional plan is arguably ActiveCampaign’s best-selling plan option. It starts at $129 a month and can cost you over $480. Like the Plus plan, it comes with everything the Lite plan offers, as well as everything you see on the Plus plan and some more features:
Monthly pricing according to your number of subscribers:
Annual pricing according to your number of subscribers:
The Professional plan is ideal for professionals, freelancers and businesses that heavily rely on personalized content for their leads to drive up sales. The predictive sending and content features utilize unique machine learning tools that automatically sends out newsletters and automations at the best time possible for each lead.
Apart from its benefits, it also has some areas that need improvement. For example:
Summary: The Professional plan is better suited for businesses that deal with a high volume of subscribers from various geographical areas. The machine learning features drip send your automations and newsletters at the best calculated time so your customers receive them when it’s most likely to drive conversions. However, it is quite expensive for the features it offers.
Enterprise plan
The Enterprise plan is ActiveCampaign’s most robust plan. The plan starts at $279 and can be as expensive as upwards of $399 per month. It comes with all the features ActiveCampaign has to offer:
Monthly pricing according to your number of subscribers
Annual pricing according to your number of subscribers:
The Enterprise plan is popular among larger enterprises and is ideal if you want to connect your newsletters and automations to a custom domain and mailserver. You will also have access to 24/7 customer support thanks to a dedicated account representative and phone support.
However, there are a few things I didn’t like about the plan such as:
Summary: The Enterprise plan is ideal for larger companies or business entities who are committed to utilizing ActiveCampaign’s features. It gives you access to all the features ActiveCampaign has to offer. Although the added features on the enterprise plan do seem a little unnecessary and overpriced.
Pros
Cons
Who is ActiveCampaign best for?
ActiveCampaign is ideal for professionals and businesses that like to focus on CRM. It gives you a decent set of tools and features like machine learning to help you maximize your conversion rates and ensure high customer retention.
While it doesn’t have any specific funnel capabilities, the Plus plan does come with a landing page builder that is quite handy for growing businesses.
What’s more, is that ActiveCampaign doesn’t mix and match random features just to make it seem like their services are worth the price. The price comes with the reliability of their customer service team, and how well their features execute their respective functions.
The user-interface is also something I’d like to commend. It’s streamlined, well-organized, and it makes it easy for even newbies to navigate the site.
Who is ActiveCampaign not best for
As much as ActiveCampaign has its merits, it’s also not the best choice for everyone.
For example, if you like to host webinars or rely heavily on sales funnels to drive conversions, then you’ll have to use third-party applications. This can be considered a minor inconvenience.
However, you also have to factor in the cost of operating your integrations on top of ActiveCampaign’s not-too-affordable plans.
So if you’re thinking of subscribing to ActiveCampaign, but find that it’s lacking some key features that you need, then I suggest you look elsewhere since it won’t be as cost-effective for your business.
Final words: Is ActiveCampaign worth it?
To be blunt, while ActiveCampaign may be one of the best automation tools in the market, it’s certainly not the best platform to invest in if you’re looking for something other than CRM tools.
That said, its plans are reasonably priced if you consider the fact that their features are well done and streamlined to increase conversions.
This means you’re able to focus on driving conversions instead of haplessly sending out email after email in the hopes of retaining customer interaction - which rarely works.
Overall, I can confidently say that while ActiveCampaign may be a bit on the expensive side, it is worth it if you rely on CRM tools entirely.
