So how does it benefit me?

Aside from the obvious things a project management app can do for you, let me walk you through five ways you can use the platform.
What I like most about the software is that it’s quite user-friendly and streamlined for helping you keep on top of everything you need to get done. One of my biggest pet peeves is when a project management app is too cluttered which makes it inconvenient and distracting to use.

Set custom statuses
You can set specific tabs or statuses for your projects. There are a handful of preselected choices, or you can also add your own which means the applications to customize your workflow are basically endless.
Create templates for checklists
You can either select ready templates or save your own. This is helpful if you have tasks that are often repetitive which means you don’t need to create new checklists for each project. This not only saves you time but helps you work more efficiently as well.
The app allows you to assign multiple people to certain tasks. This is ideal if you have collaborative work that needs to be done and managed by a team rather than an individual so you can better keep an eye on it instead of creating several projects.
This feature allows you to set a specific workflow for certain tasks. For example, if something needs to be accomplished prior to starting on another task, you can set specific dependencies for the. Furthermore, you can specify tasks that are waiting on, linked to, or blocked, by other requirements.
This handy tool allows you to set a specific time in which checklists need to be repeated. This means you don’t have to create new checklists manually, and that they’ll automatically appear according to the schedule you set.
Agile board view
The board view feature allows you to see all tasks assigned to your team in a single dashboard. Basically, it gives you a preview of all assigned tasks, team members, and more.
If you’re worked on Google docs in the past, you’re most likely familiar with the comments feature and how you can mark them as resolved. This is something that was added into ClickUp which is something I appreciate because it allows you to mark certain areas where you would like to see improvement and mark it as done once it is approved so you don’t have to continually follow up.
Team-wide status templates
The status template features are not limited to your own projects. In fact, you can re-use and re-assign them in team settings so you don’t have to create new statuses each time you assign a task or project to your colleagues.
On the right side of your screen, you’ll be able to view a handy sidebar with icons of the people on your network (including yourself). This will allow you to easily filter tasks assigned to certain members and you’ll also be able to view tasks that you’ve been assigned as well.
Basically, what the platform calls its mission control center, You’re able to monitor and manage your team and project strategy in a single dashboard for more effective execution and revisions. It also makes it easier to view areas that need improvement. I like how you’re also able to see which areas have been executed and completed so you’re better able to assess the progress of your campaigns.
An additional custom field on the drop-down menu allows you to set point values that can be awarded to certain tasks. It’s an ideal morale booster if you’re trying to go by a point system better calculate the progress of your network.

Basically, you’ll be able to see how far along in task completion each member assigned to your project is and you’ll be able to see how much work they’ve done so far. It’s also ideal for comparing which members of your team are overloaded or don’t have enough on their plate.
Instead of manually reminding yourself or your team members of upcoming deadlines or tasks that need to be accomplished, this feature allows you to set reminders so you don’t miss out on important deadlines.

Generally, you’re able to keep all of your work in one place with this handy tool. You can create docs and dedicated wikis for certain goals, which is great for keeping all information in one place. Think of it as your knowledge base or a digital almanac and directory for your projects.

Filter and search
There are several filtering options to choose from to make it easier for you to browse through your assignments. You can even create a customized one and save it for another day.
Sort through your tasks with virtually no limitations. You can sort through your global library without being limited to certain projects at a time which will save you more than just five seconds of having to scroll through your work especially if you have a lot on your plate.
Recurring task setting
One of its hallmark features is the fact that ClickUp allows you to assign recurring tasks. Say you need to do something on a weekly basis. You don’t have to constantly remind yourself to create an assignment to make sure you don’t forget. The software can do it for you.
The handy sorting tool can be customized to fit views that you often use. This means you don’t have to consistently change the viewing option, but that all your frequently used settings are there, waiting for you to use them.
This toolbar basically allows you to view or open several tasks at a time so they’re always at your disposal. It works for subtasks as well and gives you the ability to access several things at once without having to scroll over to different projects or menus.
Like I said before, ClickUp isn’t just for large enterprises or businesses with a team of people working together. It has hierarchies in place for solo users, smaller teams, or larger businesses with over 100 freelancers or employees working under its umbrella.
If you’re not too keen on minimizing tabs and having to look for them afterward, the tasks tray conveniently stores them for you. This means you’re able to keep several actions open at any one time without any of them interfering with your screen space.
Drag and drop
Organizing your tasks and reordering your projects is easy. You only need to drag and drop them without having to blink an eye. This saves you from having to select from different menus and dropdowns.
This feature allows you to mention certain tasks and easily link to them so you can assign them and so they’re easily visible without having to look for them elsewhere.
Set checklists inside tasks to monitor progress. This works for creating a structure for each assignment which also helps with monitoring progress within certain duties.
Aside from the point value system, you’re also able to set urgencies for certain tasks within projects. This helps you flag and indicate which jobs are in need of immediate attention or otherwise.
If needed, you can set a collective rescheduling for passed or pending due dates. This works well if you have a team that needs an updated deadline without you having to assign it individually which could potentially take hours to accomplish.

ClickUp review: Is it worth it?
To be frank, ClickUp isn’t the best option out there. It’s also certainly not the cheapest. But it’s a good option. I suggest you take the time to look at its interface using the free plan before you make your decision.
It all really boils down to whether or not you’re comfortable with its feature set and the price you're paying for it.
Personally, I prefer GitScrum’s pricing options. But to be fair, ClickUp isn’t all that expensive either.
