What if I told you you could write, design, and publish an entire ebook in under five minutes? You wouldn’t believe me, right?

This Designrr review walks you through how this ebook generator software can make your dreams come true in a snap.

If you've already decided to get Designrr, just click the button below.

What is Designrr?

This cloud-based service is an all-in-one ebook generator software. It features tools that allow you to create entire professional-looking ebooks in just a few minutes. There are multiple versions of it, and depending on the upgrade you’re on, you will be able to extract content from a variety of mediums to put it into your digital product.

Designrr Review

It’s one of the two most popular products in its category on the market. As far as I know, it’s the pioneer in automated ebook creation tools, which means it’s about as refined as it gets.

It’s all completely online so you get to make use of its private servers without needing to download anything onto your device. This means you don’t have to worry about switching from one laptop to another.

I personally like how streamlined the process is. I mean, the user interface is quite smooth and simple so there’s nothing that would distract or confuse you from your tasks. It’s also quite beginner-friendly so you don’t have to worry about learning curves, or investing hours of your time trying to figure it out.

Plus, its feature set can do everything for you with a few clicks so you don’t really need to worry much except think about the type of content you want to put in the book.

There are several helpful guides on their blog section, which can also help you improve your skills so you don’t have to rely on the software generating content ideas for you.

How does it work?

The ebook creation process on the software is pretty straightforward and easy to follow. Basically, there are a few steps all in all that you need to follow, and as long as you stick to the general process without getting distracted, you should have a digital product ready within five minutes - or less.

What is Designrr

Step one: the content

The first step is to choose the URL or link of the content that you want to work on. This can be from your blog, or maybe from an article you pulled up on the internet. Basically, the content will depend entirely on what you choose.

Step two: create a new project

Now that you’ve selected a link from the internet to use, it’s time to make it official. Click that “create a new project” button and see where it takes you. I’m joking, it will take you to the next step.

Step three: import content

Now, you get to make use of that URL you’ve been holding so near and dear. You just have to click the “select import from URL” button, and you’re good to go. Of course, you’ll have other options depending on which plan or upsell you’re on. But if you have the basic version (which is more than good enough) you’ll be doing this for now.

Afterward, you simply paste your link and click the big, shiny, import button.

Step four: secure your project

Now, you have to give your ebook life. You need to do this by adding in a project name, selecting your template ( or starting from scratch - it all depends on you), and adding a URL or a few words for your footer.

The footer can be your domain name or you can put your tagline in there to make it more branded.

Step five: personalize

This is when things get fun. You get to customize your template or your blank pages to make them look exactly as you want them to. Apply changes to the color theme, add elements, add a few photos or graphics, whatever you want. It’s all in your hands.

If you don’t have prior design experience though, I suggest you stick to the templates and make a few customizations from there. This will help you so that you don’t end up with an unprofessional-looking final product.

Step six: export

There are many options on how you can export your ebook once it’s done. You can upload it directly to platforms like Kindle or iBooks, or you can share it through mail, or maybe you’d like to download it directly on your computer. It all depends on what you need and what you want, so I like how it’s not limited to just one or two export choices.

And voila! You have an effective lead magnet ready. And it only took - what, three or five minutes? Easy right? I was pleasantly surprised too. I’ve used this software many times before and I like how easy it is to play with each time.

Who is Designrr for?

The ebook generator software is designed for digital marketers who need quick lead magnets for their funnels. However, it’s not exclusively made for that purpose. I like how it’s versatile, and how you can use it for a variety of niches so there’s always something to watch out for.

who is this ebook creator for

So whether you run a small coaching business, or if you’re in the plumbing industry, you’ll be able to create high-quality, professional-looking ebooks in minutes without the usual cost that comes with hiring the professionals you need to in order to complete the task.

Keep in mind that there will be some differences compared to actual ebooks created from scratch. But these are minimal and often unnoticeable depending on the kind of ebook you’re trying to create.

You’ll very much benefit from it if you want to create a lead magnet or a digital product that you can easily make money off of with very little effort. After all, we’re not all cut out for writing entire books, right?

Navigating its features

Just so you know what you're getting yourself into, and so you don’t get lost on the platform - which is unlikely since the user interface is very beginner-friendly, I’m going to walk you through some of its most prominent tabs. Besides, it might help so that you don’t miss anything that could help you make the most out of the software.

Layout

The first section you need to know about is the menu you’ll want to get the most comfortable with. It’s basically what you’ll be using to customize elements in your ebook.

Designrr layout

You’ll find it when you click on any part of your project. This includes all texts, titles, design features, and more. It appears as a small green tab at the top of the element with various icons on it. These will allow you to perform various tasks which we will be talking about later.

The first thing you should know about it is that it’s a little confusing at first. And it can become increasingly awkward when you forget what each icon is for and you end up clearing out all of your hard work instead.

Repaginate - I know, it sounds weird. But it’s actually as straightforward as the name gets. This icon lets you remove white spaces without taking a toll on how your page is formatted. This means you won’t encounter awkward layouts that you’ll have to spend minutes trying to fix.

Edit - this item basically lets you do everything you need to so each element is exactly the way you need it to be. You can resize, insert links, add icons, and more.

Lock - if you have an element that seems to get dragged along each time you’re trying to move or access something else, this selection will keep it from getting affected by any changes.

Clear formatting - this allows you to remove all formatting changes made to the paragraph such as reverting it from bold, italic, or underlined.

Format - this basically lets you switch across various heading sizes and normal paragraph text.

Delete - this deletes everything immediately. So it won’t ask you if you’re sure, which saves you a lot of time, but it’s also annoying if you accidentally make a mistake. Lucky for you, there’s an undo button at the bottom of the sidebar panel.

Save element - this basically allows you to save an element for reusing at a later time. It’s handy especially if you create branded content.

Move element up - I think this pretty much speaks for itself. It allows you to make incremental changes to move a section at an upward direction.

Move element down - the same as the one previously mentioned, except it moves it downward instead.

There’s also an added option if you’ve selected an image - you can create a hyperlink from that image and you can also justify it.

Inspector

This tab is most useful when you’re trying to import a document. There are a plethora of menu items for you to explore, so I’ll just cover the most important ones.

For example, you’re able to make basic changes such as applying background colors and images, adding padding for text spacing, and adding margins.

You’ll also be able to add shadow effects to make certain text blocks more noticeable and add borders to your text sections.

Furthermore, you’ll also be able to choose from the system’s fonts or any of the nearly 1000 Google font choices.

Last but not the least, you can also edit images inside the platform.

Elements

If you’re like me, and you like to get your hands dirty with your projects, then you’ll be very fond of this tab. Yes, it’s where you’ll find all the cool graphics you’ll want to add to your ebook, but it’s also the section that gives you the most creative freedom.

You’ll be able to add any number of lists, tables, label graphics, and quote sections using the drag and drop interface. You might need to experiment a little bit though, to achieve professional-looking layouts.

You can also embed YouTube videos and an image gallery or grid which will make your ebook stand out from your competition.

And finally, you’ll be able to drag your table of contents so that the software will automatically populate your lists with your document headings.

What else do I need to know?

I like how it’s easy to use, but don’t get me wrong - the software has a lot that needs to be improved upon. The icons on the block menus are confusing, and more than just a little bit inconvenient.

navigating Designrr

You also need to be aware of a few more things if you like to make major changes to your product. For example, when clicking the apply for button, you need to make sure you select the right option. Otherwise, you might end up formatting ALL blocks on your ebook which can be a drag.

All in all, unless you plan on making a lot of changes or starting your ebook from scratch you shouldn’t have much to think about. But if you do, make sure you sit down and familiarize yourself with everything to avoid getting frustrated like I did when I first started using the platform.

Designrr pros and cons

So like any SaaS product out there, you’re bound to come across annoyances and features that you’d like to celebrate. And the same can be said of Designrr

Let’s take a quick look at what you’re getting yourself into before you go ahead and spend that initial investment.

Pros

  • There are several helpful blog posts on the website which will not only encourage you to keep creating ebooks, but it will also guide you along the process.
  • You won’t end up reliant on the software because you’ll be able to build your content from scratch.
  • You can import content from videos and voice recordings - which makes things a lot easier.
  • There are plenty of themes to choose from that accommodate various niches.
  • It’s well-priced, especially if you don’t plan on upgrading.
  • You can upload directly to ebook marketplaces.
  • The user interface is easy to use and the drag and drop builder is great for beginners

Cons

  • If you plan to make major design changes, you’ll need to learn how the different menu items work first unless you want to complicate the process.
  • You’ll need to pay recurring fees for the upgrades.
  • There seem to be some bugs when you’re making changes.

Designrr pricing and upsells

You should know that more than anything, the software is a multi-level funnel for affiliate marketers. But it’s also very handy for creating successful ebooks. So whether you’re a marketer or someone who just wants to launch an ebook in seconds, you should know that it’s one of the cheapest lifetime options out there.

Designrr pricing and upsells

To gain access, it costs only $27 for lifetime use. Impressive? I like to think so too, especially since it’s going to do most of the work for you. But other than that, there are quite a few upsells and an optional upgrade you might want to know about.

Let’s take a look at them below:

Upgrade 1: Designrr PRO - $97 Annual Recurring

So let’s say you’re not 100% happy with the regular version of the software. Maybe there aren’t enough templates for you, or maybe you’re not satisfied with the current ways you’re able to import your content.

For an added fee of around $19 a month or $97 annual billing, you’ll gain access to extra features such as the ability to publish to Kindle and other ebook formats which includes an animated flipbook or epub capability.

You’ll also be able to import content from PDFs and Facebook pages. Other than that, you’ll also gain access to additional templates each month, a library with over 200 professional cover photos, a 3D cover creation tool, you’ll be able to turn off the headers and footers as you wish, you can protect your ebooks by preventing them from getting downloaded, and you can easily access elements that you frequently use.

If you’re not too sure about the added cost (especially since it isn’t a one-time fee, you might want to give the free trial a chance. The seven-day trial will let you access all of the extra features risk-free.

Upgrade 2: Designrr Premium - $297 Annual Recurring

The final upsell or should I say upgrade is Designrr Premium, It costs an additional $297 a year which is a bit inconvenient and expensive if you ask me. However, if you’re still not completely satisfied with the previous version, then you might like how this one takes your design experience to a whole new level.

Designrr premium

To start with, I thought you should know that this is the official flagship product of the software. And what makes it unique is that it does more than just build your ebooks for you. It also has the ability to transcribe audio and video recordings.

Think of how valuable your content would be if you could pull it out of the best TED talks and coaching sessions you’ve attended. This feature lets you turn entire audio and video files into a prized ebook.

So if you’re a video content creator who would like to tap into a new product base, then this upgrade just might be the perfect choice for you. Not too sure just yet? I get it, it is after all quite expensive. So if you’re kind of interested, but aren’t 100% sure yet, just select the free trial.

There’s zero commitment so you get to enjoy the features without worrying about it reflecting in next month’s credit card bill. And if you do decide to not push through, then you can just cancel it.

Alternatives: Designrr vs Sqribble

For some time now, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the two platforms. For some reason, they just don’t get along. And I understand that, they offer almost the same product and target the same market.

What is Sqribble

So if you’re looking for an alternative and you aren’t 100% sure about this one just yet, you’ll want to look into Sqribble.

I like to make it clear for anyone reading my reviews that you should hold your needs to the highest priority. What I mean by this is that you shouldn’t let anything I - or anyone else say, sway you.

Take it with a grain of salt, and think about what your preferences are first.

That said, Sqribble is what I would call the new kid on the block. Its competition is years ahead of it in the market, and has amassed a customer base that is impressive - to say the least.

The biggest difference would be that it doesn’t have the following features:

  • Importing files from PDF
  • Turning PDFs into a Flipbook
  • Importing content from audio or videos
  • Publishing to ebook platforms
  • Image and photo editor
  • Absolute template customization

It’s also quite a bit more expensive compared to Designrr. However, even if you choose to pursue its many upgrades, you won’t have to pay monthly fees because they’re all one-time payments.

There’s very little difference and I think you’ll just have to make your decision based on whether you’d prefer the additional features of today's main product, or if you’d like to give the new kid on the block a chance to show how it can outshine its competition.

Having said that, you may feel that you’re more limited with Designrr’s initial offer that costs under $30. But if your budget isn’t too large, it’s a great starting point with a good set of tools and templates that you’ll definitely have a lot of use for.

Designrr review: final thoughts

I for one, am a fan of anything that makes the job of digital marketing easier. Creating lead magnets can be time-consuming - not to mention, expensive. I like how this software is more affordable compared to its main competitor, and that it’s unique in its own way.

It has a set of features that moves the process along more quickly and efficiently than it would be if you were to do things yourself.

While its main purpose is to basically do all of the work of creating an ebook for you, I like how you’re able to work on your skills with its easy-to-use drag and drop editor. Sure, there are a few things I’d like for it to improve upon, like its overall design, but it’s still a great software nonetheless.

Overall, it’s a great automated ebook builder. It might even be one of the best in the market. However, whether you’d like to stick to it or not remains entirely up to you. Keep in mind that if you want to make major changes, while it isn’t impossible, the editor is a little bit confusing and inconvenient to use.

So unless that’s a deal-breaker, you should definitely give Designrr a try.
