How to Make 50 Dollars a Day Online [Best Tips and Strategies]

When you think about a side hustle, I’m sure your goal isn’t to earn 50 dollars a day online. Most of the time, when you ask someone, they’ll tell you they want to make millions off their passion.

But that isn’t realistic in most cases - not to mention, it takes a while before you’ll actually get anywhere near close to your goal. What you should be doing is starting small. Once you overcome certain hurdles, you’ll quickly find yourself at the finish line having achieved way more than you initially thought possible.

So, here’s my quick how to make 50 dollars a day guide to help you on the road to financial stability.

What is the easiest way to earn a quick 50 bucks?

There’s no such thing as an instant 50 dollar money giving tree that will dispense half a hundred bucks at will each day for you to enjoy. And while there are plenty of get rich quick schemes out there that claim to fill your wallets in an instant, you’ll most likely need to wait a few days at least, or put in a significant amount of hard work to see it into reality.

How to Make 50 Dollars a Day

But since you’re asking, the absolute EASIEST - if there even is such a thing, a way to earn 50 bucks each day is going the online route.

Nearly the whole world has gone digital. There are virtually no limitations to shopping, setting appointments, and even working. It all fits in a handy screen that you’re staring at right now.

As you’re reading this, you’re actually viewing one of the ways I rake in extra dough. Although it wasn’t always as lucrative as it is now, I started out small - earning $10 each day, and eventually made my way to where I am now.

Of course, that’s only one point of view to look at it from. What you didn’t see is the year I spent losing money on the blog itself. You didn’t see the times I wanted to give up because I was spending more money running the site than I was earning from it.

Of course, earning money through blog posts like these is one thing, but I also made a good chunk of my daily income from affiliate marketing, promoting products, and even helping others by sharing my expertise

We’ll look into those avenues later. Aside from that, you might also encounter MLM or Multi-Level Marketing opportunities when searching for ways to earn 50 dollars per day online, you’ll also come across suggestions like streaming, starting an online store, and even selling baked goods or food items to your local community

That said, if you want to look into more traditional means, you might want to look into working for your neighbors. Think about starting a babysitting or dog-sitting business, pool cleaning, house maintenance, and other essential tasks that you could offer.

How to make 50 dollars a day

Whenever I’m asked this question, I always have one stock answer: hard work. You’ll never be able to get anywhere without it. Of course, that doesn’t mean you need to be hunched over something you absolutely detest to see any progress. In fact, one way to make earning from your side hustle more lucrative is to do something you actually enjoy.

While 50 bucks a day isn’t nearly enough to tide you through the day to day grind if you wish to live with even a modicum of comfort, it’s still a good stepping stone to earning $100 to even upwards of thousands of dollars a day in the near future.

Here are some of the best tried and tested ways to earn a little extra cash in today’s financial climate.

Start a blog

Over 70% of the world’s entire population are facing a screen at any given time. This means your audience doesn’t need to be restricted to your local area or even your country for that matter.

Start a blog

The world is your literal oyster. If you’re wondering why you should start a blog, I’d like to point out one very obvious fact: you’re reading mine right now.

So what does that mean for you? Am I only earning 50 dollars a day from writing? Have I found success?

Why should I start a blog?

Before I answer all your hard-burning questions, let me break down the most important reasons for considering running a platform for your thoughts on anything and everything.

1. It’s a great creative outlet. Writing in any form can help you release stress. Additionally, posts are usually mandated by you, since you own the website. So you’re able to write for specific niches or write about everything under the sun as you please.

2. It can help you tap into other forms of passive and active income. One of the best things about running your own content is that you’re able to branch out into other ventures while continuing to add value to the one you currently have. I, myself earn from affiliate marketing links, running ads, and selling my products on the blog alongside what the website earns.

3. Because you can. With all the digital advancements out there, you CAN’T say you don’t know how to start one. There is quite literally an endless pool of information out there for you to tap into. Not to mention FREE and beginner-friendly tools to help you with each step of the way.

How do I succeed in this?

I’m sure this sounds pretty much like an absolute cliche now, but if you want to succeed, you need to be committed to what you’re about to do. Blogging isn’t for the light-hearted. No matter how easy it might seem to you.

Think about it. Now that I am where I am, I’m able to cut my content back to at least once a week. And that’s mainly because I want my work to remain relevant and I want to make sure I have a consistent connection with my audience.

Write at least 5 pillar blog posts

But it wasn’t always that way. When I was starting out, I had to publish at least three posts each week. Why? There’s no promoting my platform if there’s barely anything on it.

Plus, it's true what they say - the more entries you have, the more chances of winning. Think of it this way, the more articles and blog posts I have out in the world, the more chances I have of someone discovering me and what I have to say, thus fast-tracking my progress and essentially propelling me closer and closer to my goals with every view.

Additionally, you should also consider the following tips if you want to find success through blogging

  • Write relevant content. Now, this doesn’t mean you need to stick to a viral activity or new events. Although this does help, but make sure you’re reading your target audience correctly. One of the biggest mistakes would-be bloggers make is writing about things that don’t interest their niche. For example, if you want to run a platform that focuses on lifestyle choices, don’t write about things like your political affiliations, your views on the latest gossip, and other irrelevant topics that don’t relate to your audience.
  • Make sure your posts are relatable and valuable. Not everyone wants to read about how your kitten discovered something new today. Although if we’re being completely honest, if that’s the kind of niche you find yourself in, it could be a really good and interesting filler piece. That said, it’s not particularly valuable to your readers unless you’re writing about something that personally helps them or contributes to them in any way. Viewer retention is 100% reliant on how your visitors find your posts and one way to make sure they come back for more is by providing them with content that adds value to their lives.
  • Be authentic and always do your research. In the heat of the moment, it can be easy to forego a quick Google check or even to think about what you’re writing. While it’s important to stick to what you personally believe in, you need to remember that your writing serves your readers and not you. The easiest way to lose credibility is by not fact-checking. Make sure you’re well-read on any subject matter you talk about and make sure you maintain a consistent voice throughout your writing.

What are the ways to earn money by blogging?

Let’s discuss the main income-generator for most blog sites - ad hosting, and afterwards, I’ll enumerate a few other ways you can earn money through blogging.

Host ads on your blog

Like I mentioned before, blogging is a good platform for several side hustles. Ad hosting is just another way for you to earn a quick 50 bucks by doing basically nothing on your end

And here's the great part: because ads tend to be so expensive, offering advertising space for such a low price could help you entice potential advertisers. You don’t necessarily need millions of views per month. What most network managers look for are engagement and a consistent viewer base

What do I need to know about hosting ads

First off, I bet you’re wondering how much you’ll actually make with this hustle. Usually, you get paid per page view. Say you get 5,000 views each day. The usual going rate is around $0.01-0.02 per unique page view. Although it sounds like a lot, take note that this is for a single page. Imagine running the same ads across different pages on your website.

Host ads on your blog

This is a good way to maximize traffic and your profits. All those little views eventually add up and you’ll end up with a passive income of $50 each day without having to lift a single finger apart from the initial setup you need to accomplish.

Additionally, you might also wonder how you’re able to host these ads on your site. Here are a few things you need to have at the ready if you want to draw the attention of advertisers:

  • Set up a Google AdSense account
  • Alternatively, look for and join reliable ad networks
  • Make sure your platform and web hosting service allows you to run ads on your pages and track them
  • Build up your audience and drive traffic to your blog from many places

Tips for running ads on your blog

  • Run as many ads as you can on a single page. Take note that you don’t want your content to look spammy so make sure it still looks streamlined, neat, and as organic as possible.
  • AdSense link units are your friend. Don’t ignore Google AdSense and what it can do for you and your blog.
  • Use the custom search engine on Adsense.
  • Ad inserts are a good way to optimize your content.
  • Place ads in your comments section.
  • Utilize sponsored CAPTCHAs.
Other ways to earn money through blogging
  • Promote affiliate products
  • Start charging for sponsored content
  • Write guest posts for media platforms
  • Sell ad space on your blog’s newsletter
  • Run banner adverts
  • Write advertorials
  • Sell digital products on your blog

Look into affiliate marketing

If you’ve ever come across an influencer offering a link that you could follow to either get a discount or to redirect you to a website or product that is “very interesting”, then you’re probably aware of affiliate marketing

Heck, if you’ve read more than one of my blogs, I’m sure you’ve encountered a few affiliate links here and there.

This way of earning money is usually frowned upon simply because most people associate promoted products with paid advertisements. This is true, but the fact that it usually translates into products that are promoted solely for financial gain is anything but true.

affiliate marketing process

While there are some questionable practices going around, you’ll also come across marketers like me who only promote and align ourselves with products we believe to be of value and that will enrich our reader’s lives.

Now, I'm not saying every affiliate link out there is legit. There are some shady products you need to be wary of promoting. And the internet is also rife with affiliate marketing scams - websites that let you do all the work without paying you for your efforts.

Usually, companies will offer you free or discounted access to their services or products plus a set rate or fee for every conversion using your specific link. In some cases, you need to subscribe or sign up to a certain affiliate tier where you’ll be able to manage your affiliate links and create a system based on your and your recruit’s performance

What do I need to know about it?

This method of earning an extra 50 bucks daily is seemingly boundless. Of course, it also needs a certain amount of hard work and consistency. And if done correctly, you’ll earn more than just 50 dollars each day.

Plus, there’s also the fact that you’re basically able to join as many programs as you want. Say you join Kartra and a referral subscribes to the monthly base plan which costs around $99. Kartra offers a 40% recurring commission for as long as they’re getting charged. That’s $39.6 on a single person. Imagine if they were to subscribe to higher price tiers.

The same principle can be applied to other programs. In my experience, the first thing you need to remember is that you have to be consistent and do your research. Just because a brand offers a potential income source, does not mean it is legit, valuable, or worth your time.

Do not waste your time promoting anything and everything. Preserve your credibility and make sure your audience trusts you which in turn, will make them more likely to support your promotions.

Start selling your own digital products

You may have noticed that there is a growing trend of selling printables, digital art, digital planners, and all manners of non-shippable products.

One of the biggest reasons for this is because of the market’s growing need for convenience and instant gratification. There’s also a demand for clutter-free purchases where webinars, ebooks, and other similar kinds of services are concerned.

Start selling your own digital products

Jumping on the bandwagon is easier said than done. For one, you need to do your research. Marketplaces like Etsy make it easy to set up shop and start making money. But it’s not always guaranteed.

You need to consider your market, thoroughly research your products, and invest your time and resources into other avenues to make it possible.

What do I need to know before getting into it?

For starters, you need to know what digital goods you want to offer. This can be anything from:

  • Electronic publications
  • Artwork
  • Printable designs
  • Webinars
  • Content calendars
  • And many more

I’ve personally made quite a bit by selling business plan templates online, and all I can say about it is this: make sure you have the right tools at your disposal.

Here are some helpful tips to get you started:

  • Choose your angle. This basically means you need to find your niche. It can be tempting to cater to anything and everything possible. But trust me, you’ll see faster and better results if you stick to one. Find one that you’re most comfortable, knowledgeable, or passionate in.
  • Establish your authority and maintain it. Whatever product you decide to sell, make sure you’re able to show your authority in the market. Your audience will only pay attention to you if they know you’re worth their time.
  • Take advantage of customer retention. Retaining your customer base is the most important thing when running any business. Make sure you take care of existing patrons and don’t focus too much on gaining new customers although that’s also something you shouldn’t neglect.
  • Take your presentation into account. Like any physical item you’re trying to sell, the packaging is important. Make sure you present your commodities in an attractive manner.
  • Put focus on maintaining the best customer service practices. The best way to convince your audience that you’re worth their time is by investing in your customer support. Being present, easy to reach, and eager to help will not only improve your customer retention, but it will also convince would-be buyers to turn into customers.

Sell valuable online courses

While physical learning is still valuable, many people are now turning to learning new skills online. This is mainly why platforms like Coursehero have steadily grown in popularity. It basically gives their audience an outlet in which they’re able to learn new skills at their own pace and comfort.

Sell valuable online courses

Think of it as a more in-depth how-to video that you’ll usually find on YouTube. People who have ventured into selling online courses offer a variety of skills from digital or traditional art to complex coding

This basically gives you the autonomy to sell your expertise and skills to help others.

How do I start selling online courses?

  • Determine the WHY of your venture. Set a clear image of why you want to help people by sharing the information you’ll be selling. This will help you find a path to follow so you don’t stray and help you keep some structure to your services.
  • Pick your topic. You can’t start if you don’t know what you’ll be selling. Choose something you’re comfortable with and that you know you’re skilled in.
  • Validate your product. It’s important to maintain an authority figure. List all the credentials you can to convince people that you know what you’re talking about.
  • Start creating your content. This may take the longest, but it’s arguably the most important part of the process. After all, how can you sell something when you haven’t created it?
  • Host it. There are a wide variety of hosting services to choose from out there. Make sure you find a platform you’re comfortable in to avoid any issues.
  • Set your price. My biggest tip for determining a fair price is to take into account how long you spent working on your course. Make sure you also factor in the costs of production as well as any tools you used to bring your courses to life.
  • Market your product. Advertising is a key ingredient in success. You can’t exactly expect people to find your courses if you keep them hidden away, do you?

Promote or write e-books

Digital publications have recently grown in popularity. For many aspiring authors, getting published is a very long, expensive, and difficult process. Thanks to the rise of platforms like Kindle unlimited, would-be authors are able to get published for much less, and are able to sell their work more easily.

Promote or write e-books

Finding an agent is also often a long and tedious process which is why many opt for the self-publication route. Unfortunately, traditionally printed books can cost a lot of money to self-publish. This is where e-books have opened up a completely different avenue for writers to be able to self-publish for much less and have their work available to a larger audience.

How do I succeed in it?

  • Choose a topic that’s popular, but not too saturated. I hate it when authors write about the same things just because it’s currently the most popular in the market. While this has its merits, it’s just not realistic. If you’re jumping into an overly crowded marketplace, expect your sales to drop unless you’re already established in the field.
  • Maintain a high standard. Maintain a cover to cover quality that will set you apart from your competitors. I know, not every ebook out there is high quality. But do you really want to be known for mediocre work? The ultimate goal is to provide value so why wouldn’t you put out something that is as valuable as possible?
  • Choose the right publishing platform. Whether you want to self-publish or go the traditional route, make sure you consider all the pros and cons. There are many choices out in the market, and you need to do more than just a little bit of research to make sure you choose the right one.
  • Enter writing competitions. One of the fastest ways to get your work out there is entering it into contests. This will not only improve the credibility of your work but expose it to an audience that is interested in the topic you’re writing about.

Make money with your social media expertise (social media management)

Social media is one of the biggest platforms for business owners today. Nearly every venture is on some sort of platform since it’s the fastest way to connect with your audience and to gain exposure for your services.

But not everyone is well-versed in managing platforms like Facebook and Instagram. In fact, many business owners find that it’s quite difficult to balance content creation and managing these platforms.

Make money with your social media expertise

This is where social media management has risen to become a five-figure business venture for many work at home professionals. That said, it isn’t easy nor is it reserved to posting random content a few times each day.

Here are my top tips for succeeding in social media management:

  • Invest in scheduling applications. Just because it’s your job to maintain an active account, doesn’t mean you need to manually post everything. In fact, this is one of the reasons why you’ll easily get overwhelmed and even forget to post your content. Scheduling apps will automatically post for you on a schedule so you can focus on other important aspects of maintaining your client’s platform.
  • Create a content calendar. Following a schedule and a strict calendar for content will help you visualize how valuable everything you put out there is. Plus, it also helps you maintain some semblance of control and fluidity in your content creation process.
  • Manage your time properly. Make sure you’re aware of the best times to post and interact with your client’s audience. This will drive up your results and make sure your client is as happy as can be.
  • Run your own page. The best way to display how effective you are is by running your own account. Entice potential clients by showing them how you plan to run their accounts and how their interaction and account growth will be impacted by your services.

Start a freelance writing career

Freelancing is one of the best ways to earn money while being able to control your own time. Basically, you’re able to work with clients instead of under them. As a freelancer, you’re not held to the standards of an employee, but rather as a business associate where you are paid for services you provide on mutual terms.

freelance writing

There are many branches under freelance writing. So the first thing you’ll need to do is find your niche. Yes, it’s possible to be able to do thorough research and write about nearly everything, but sticking to a few topics you’re most comfortable with will prevent you from burning out and will help you hone your craft until such time you’re able to charge a larger fee for your services.

On average, a rate of $0.01 per word is considered a reasonable enough rate for budding writers. But this does depend on the niche you’re writing on. Basically, the more technical the requirements, the higher you can charge.

Here are some tips for succeeding as a freelance writer:

  • Look into Search Engine Optimization. SEO writing is highly needed now that businesses and websites are looking for content that can rank on Google. While you may not necessarily need to start off with this niche, you may want to look into it for future reference and work on your skills.
  • One to three niches is enough. Whether you choose to write academic, tech, or blog pieces, setting your specialty or focus is important. This will give you enough time and experience to hone your skills.
  • Keep improving. There’s always room for improvement. Every client is different and their needs will differ from time to time. Make sure you take that into consideration while giving them your honest, professional opinion.

Conclusion

There are many ways to earn an extra 50 bucks every day. Whether you call it a side hustle or part-time job, it’s entirely possible to earn 50 dollars a day or more. All you need to keep in mind is that it will take some hard work and nothing is guaranteed in an instant. But if you put in the right amount of effort, expect to see results in as little as a few weeks.

In addition to the methods I listed above, here are some other ways you can make a quick 50 bucks:

  • Start a YouTube channel
  • Start vlogging
  • Set up a craft-based business
  • Look into online coaching services
  • Sell graphic designs
  • Join platforms like Fiverr
  • Do odd jobs
