What is Fusebox?

Fusebox, which used to be called Smart Podcast Player, is a plug-in for WordPress that lets you show podcast episodes on your blog or website.

The Fusebox Podcast Player was created by and for podcasters. Pat Flynn, the author of the WordPress site Smart Passive Income, made Smart Podcast Player for him to broadcast episodes of his Ask Pat podcast on his blog.

It's a feature-packed plug-in that handles all of your podcasting requirements. It lets you add podcast episodes and other audio files to your WordPress blog or website.

Fusebox is a podcast player that you can use to manage and listen to your favorite podcasts on the go.

When it comes to audio players, there are several ways to listen to podcasts, such as through an iTunes app, a browser plug-in and even a dedicated player.

When you're browsing for podcasts on the web, though, things can get pretty tricky. You need a good way to subscribe and track your favorite podcasts using your browser. That's where Fusebox comes in handy.

Fusebox features

After my experience with Fusebox, I can confidently say that it's one of the best programs for listening to podcasts. While some podcast players allow you to submit episodes to your blog, Fusebox provides a wealth of additional simple features.

Fusebox's extensive features include the following:

Email capture tool

Fusebox's email capture tool is a terrific feature that encourages your readers to sign up for your newsletter if you're looking to grow your email list

This takes the shape of an embedded button that directs podcast listeners to your subscriber sign-up page, where they can quickly input their name, email address, and other contact information.

Consequently, you will no longer need to employ a third-party plug-in.

The email capture tool is handy for podcasters who are just getting started and wish to grow their mailing list.

Simple subscription buttons make it much simpler to convert podcast listeners into leads. They work with various email marketing providers, like MailChimp, HubSpot, AWeber, Constant Contact, etc.

Customizable display

When you're podcasting, it's essential to focus on your niche. Fusebox allows you to customize how your podcast is displayed to reflect what you're doing.

This feature means you can customize the podcast player's design to match the rest of your brand's website. If you're releasing a "health and wellness" type of podcast, this will not be effective in attracting new listeners.

However, if you want to broadcast a news-based show about food and recipes, this will be perfect for reaching out to new potential clients or influencers interested in what you have to say.

Changing how your podcasts appear in the podcast player is also possible. As a result, you can move older episodes to the top of the list rather than seeing them in their chronological order.

Fusebox is a podcast app that allows you to listen to episodes from your favorite podcasts without subscribing.

I grew fond of this specific feature since it enables me to assess a speaker before subscribing to see whether I like their mood and material.

The app also has a great design that makes it easy to find new podcasts, discover new ones, or listen to your old favorites.

It's easy enough for anyone to use, but there is much room for customization if you're looking for more control over how you listen.

Built-in mobile player

Fusebox has a built-in mobile player that adapts its size to match the displays of various devices

As a result, the player will function flawlessly regardless of the device used by the listener. This feature is especially important for podcasters with a mobile-savvy millennial audience.

In addition, Fusebox says that their podcast player would load swiftly on all platforms.

This is important if you want to get more visitors in a world where slow load times can impact your bounce rate (70 percent of customers say page speed is a factor in whether or not they'll buy something).

The thing I like about this feature is that it will feel like you're getting twice the player. Fusebox has built a highly optimized mobile player that looks great and functions well even on a large screen.

Sticky player

Fusebox has a sticky player that allows you to display your podcast player at the top or bottom of your website. This results in your podcast episodes always showing up, even if the user scrolls down the page or leaves your web page.

embed html

The sticky player is important because it gives you a chance to get in front of users who are not quite ready to purchase.

sticky 3

In addition, the sticky player plug-in expands to ensure that it is fully functional. For example, if you're using a WordPress theme with a sidebar, the player will expand to fit in and still be visible to the viewer.

sticky 4

Since not all themes and plug-ins are created equally, it's essential to take knowledge into this.

Full player

Fusebox's full player feature lets you centralize all of your podcast episodes on a single page of your blog. With this plug-in, you can show all of your podcasts in a single place and give visitors the option to listen to them directly from the page.

The only thing that I didn't like about it is that you have to scroll down the page to see each episode.

sticky 2

A way to make the episodes pop out more so that they're easier to see and read would be nice, but overall,l this plug-in was very easy to use and worked well for me.

Advanced management tools

Fusebox is a great option if you're looking for a way to manage your podcast. It comes with many beneficial features for your podcasting efforts, including easy-to-use statistics and smart search features

You can check out the performance of each episode and see how many plays it had in a certain period. Stats are great when you want to know what a particular episode did and if it succeeded or not.

Fusebox also has some nice tools for managing your episodes, such as the ability to schedule them in advance or add them to iTunes automatically

You can even send out emails when new episodes release so people can subscribe without worrying about missing out on anything important!

Fusebox also makes it easy to send out alerts when something happens with your podcast—such as someone leaving an iTunes review or subscribing through an RSS feed—so you never miss anything important again!

Multiplatform support

Fusebox is perfect for Android and iOS phone users looking to add podcasting to their existing routine as a mobile app.

Multiplatform support allows you to concentrate on learning how to podcast rather than worrying about whether it will work on your device or not.

Furthermore, since it works on both platforms, you won't have to waste time figuring out how to utilize anything when you're already busy with other things.

I also love this feature since it is one of the few podcast apps that can be switched seamlessly between Android and iOS or even Desktop.

The feel of the app is very clean, and it's a great interface to use on many different devices, both while working and while relaxing at home.

As long as your computer has a good internet connection, you don't need to worry about your podcast player getting out of sync.

This feature is very handy for me since there will be times when I can only listen to podcasts on my phone, which is why I like this feature a lot.

Easy subscription management

Fusebox's user interface is easy to navigate, so if you want to ensure your subscribers receive the latest updates, it's easy to change the settings. For instance, sending your new episodes when released can be changed.

In addition, it's possible to download your podcast files directly from the Fusebox app and then upload them to your blog so that you don't need to use any additional resources.

No ads

Another feature I adore about Fusebox is that it's incredibly ad-free by design.

With Fusebox, you don't have to worry about the audience experience being interrupted by advertisements or anything like that. The only thing you see on your player is the episodes themselves, which keeps the user experience nice and clean

There's no need to worry about another company. There's no way for another company to insert something between your content or your audience, so you don't need to worry about that.

Fusebox is free of advertisements and will remain that way for the foreseeable future.

Abundant integrations

If you like to listen to podcasts, you know how important it is to have a podcast player seamlessly sync with your favorite platforms.

The Fusebox Player makes it easy to connect with your visitor's favorite podcasting platforms. You can choose from Lybsin, PodBean, Buzzsprout, Stitcher, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts

Plus ESP providers like MailChimp, ConvertKit and Aweber are all supported by the Fusebox Player!

With the Fusebox player, you can also easily add your custom buttons on top of the player to take visitors directly to your website or social media page.

Transcript plug-in

The Fusebox podcast app also comes with a transcription plug-in that allows you to automatically create transcripts for your podcasts

In addition, the app can automatically generate meta-data for your podcast, which makes it easier to find each episode in iTunes, Google Play Music and other podcast directories.

I love using this feature since the code is easy to edit and will automatically sync with your podcast so that the changes show up in real-time.

Social sharing tools

Fusebox makes it easier than ever to share your content across social media. You can even include a link to your RSS feed right within the app

While trying out this feature, I liked it a lot since there were not many things to do, and it wasn't hard navigating through it.

Social sharing tools are key to keeping podcast viewers coming back. You should be able to make your content available on social networks, and Fusebox makes that a breeze

You can continue to build your audience without doing any manual entry by adding links in posts or manually sending out messages over social networks.

I found that this worked well for me because I had an account on all of the platforms —Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn— so it made sense for me to use these platforms as well as others like Instagram or Snapchat (which aren't mentioned above).

The only thing missing from my point of view is Pinterest because I don't have an account set up there yet.

Integrates with PodPage

PodPage is a cutting-edge technology that allows podcasters to construct basic web pages in about 10 minutes. The software creates websites from podcast RSS feeds that are fully functional and customizable to the podcaster's preferences.

PodPage is the solution for podcasters that just want to podcast and don't require a complicated website to promote their business.

Perfect for individuals who don't want to mess around with WordPress, Weebly, Wix, or, worse yet, hand-coded HTML pages.

Now that you can create your website using PodPage and Smart Podcast Player, you'll be able to seamlessly integrate your podcast into your website without any technical knowledge!

Platform exclusivity

Your podcast episodes may be displayed on your website using Fusebox. You have complete control over your website and have no competition for your visitors' attention.

If you have a podcast-only available on one platform or one specific app, the Fusebox player may not be the best fit.

However, if you have a podcast with a diverse audience base, this app could certainly be helpful. I love this feature a lot since no competition means I only need to impress my audience without thinking of other podcasters.

Fusebox pricing plans

Fusebox is built around the idea that everyone who uses podcasting should be able to afford it. They offer a plan that is $19 a month and a plan that is free forever. Which method you choose depends on how many monthly views you get.

Once you have a plan, you can use all the features that Fusebox offers, so it's possible to afford the most expensive plan with this app. Below is a more detailed description of Fusebox's pricing plan:

Fusebox Free

Fusebox Free is a fantastic tool for those who want to get their feet wet with podcasting or those who have already started and are looking for a better way to automate the process.

It offers several appealing characteristics that make it an excellent pick for beginners, including up to 10k monthly views (more than enough for most people), brand color selection, and limited color schemes

It also has a Call to Action feature and Subscribes links, which are great ways to grow your audience.

The Single Track Player is another great feature: it allows you to play your show's entire episode without switching back and forth between tracks. This makes it easy for listeners to stay engaged throughout your podcast.

It also comes with a Transcript WP plug-in that allows you to upload transcripts manually—a nice feature if you've got a lot of episodes (and don't want them all transcribed). All of these features are available for only $0 monthly.

Fusebox Pro

If you're looking for a podcast player that's customizable, professional and easy to use, look no further than Fusebox Pro.

Fusebox Pro is the perfect solution for podcasters who have more than 100k monthly views and want to be able to manage unlimited numbers of pro players on one account.

With Fusebox Pro, you can create single track players, archive players with playlists, full-page archive players, sticky players and transcript plug-ins for WordPress with integration support for Rev and Temi.

You'll also receive webinar training, email support, fully customizable buttons (including show/hide), and more!

Fusebox Pro is fully customizable and offers many options: from show/hide podcast covers to custom podcast cover links and playlists within archive players. You can get all of these features for only $19 monthly

I don't like Fusebox Pro because the free trial is only available for annual subscribers, which might be a bummer for podcasters who want to experience Fusebox's full features.
