But is it the right choice for you? 

In today’s Weebly pricing plans review, I’ll walk you through the pros and cons of each subscription option to help you make a more informed decision.

Let me start this review by walking you through a quick overview of your Weebly pricing options. There are basically four plans to choose from (including the free forever plan). The cost ranges from nothing to $38 a month billed annually.

And you’ll be able to choose to subscribe to basic website hosting or plans with eCommerce capabilities.

The free forever plan might sound attractive, but it’s important for you to factor in the needs of your business. For example, there are certain limitations to the unpaid version that might affect how well your website does.

To start with, you can’t connect a domain. Another concern might be that it shows ads.

When you subscribe to a paid plan, you’ll automatically be able to remove any Weebly ads on your website. This makes it look instantly more professional. Furthermore, you’ll also have access to various functionalities for email marketing, eCommerce, and more.

Since each plan has varying feature sets, your decision should be heavily weighed not by the cost, but by how functional the plan is. Take a moment to ask yourself “Does it have everything my website needs?

If the answer isn’t yes, then you need to re-evaluate your choice.

You will be able to save a small percentage if you choose the annual payment option. But overall, it depends on how much you’re willing to spend upfront for your website.

Like I mentioned before, the free plan comes with its own set of strict limitations that you may or may not find annoying. It’s a good option for startups who don’t really need eCommerce tools, and don’t want to spend anything on their website just yet.

It’s also a good plan to start with if you just want to get the lay of the land. Think of it as basically an unlimited free trial where you get to view everything the platform has to offer in exchange for a few minor inconveniences like the inability to connect a domain.

To be honest, I think the limitations are completely fair. I mean, if I’m using software for free, I’m not going to complain that there are branded ads running on my website. That’s just how the developers will be able to keep their services running. So it’s basically a win-win for all parties.

Here’s what you can do on the free plan: 

  • Build a website - you can create any type of website without store or checkout capabilities on this plan. The drag and drop builder will have the same functionalities, with the exception of a few features, widget, or tools that should be a part of the premium plans.
  • Start a blog - if you want to dip your toes into the blogging industry, this is a good place to start. You’ll be able to customize a subdomain for your blog so it still looks personalized. And you’ll be able to add and edit as many blog entries as you want.
  • Create an online portfolio - online portfolios seem to be gaining popularity recently. The good thing about it is that you don’t really need to spend anything to get it up and running. You’ll be able to select from various template options without anything holding you back.
  • Search engine optimization - I truly adore how this platform gives you access to one of the most important tools for website owners. And that’s SEO. Now that nearly the whole world has gone digital, it’s important for you to have tools that will help you rank higher on Google.
  • Create mailing campaigns - you will have access to various free lead capture and contact forms that will help you start a newsletter or create a standard or incredibly basic funnel.


Using the free plan will be more than enough for most bloggers who are just starting out. However, it won’t be a good option for you if you want to build an authoritative online presence. It also won’t help you if you want to start an online store or accept and schedule bookings right from your website.


This plan option is what you would normally consider as the most basic plan. It basically gives you the ability to connect a custom domain to your Weebly website. It costs $60 paid annually or $7 a month. If you ask me, I think it’s a pretty good rate. However, you should be aware that you will need to pay for your domain costs on top of your Weebly subscription.

The plan comes with the most basic functionalities like basic 500MB storage and free SSL security. It’s important to know that these two are also included in the free plan. There’s really not much of a difference between the free and Connect plans except for the fact that you’ll be able to connect a domain.

Here’s what you can do on the plan: 

  • Create professional-looking websites - when you look up a business, you’re more inclined to trust one that has its own domain. That’s just the way it is and any digital marketer will tell you this. Because of this, you’ll be able to create a sense of online authority connected to you and your brand.


I have to be 100% transparent with you. The only way I see this plan as substantial or helpful is if you’ve decided that you want to become a serious blogger. I wouldn’t recommend it to create a professional online portfolio if that’s what you’re going for. Since your viewers will still be subject to Weebly ads which significantly lowers your web authority with potential clients.

Besides, there’s basically nothing else that differentiates it from the free version except the ability to connect a domain. I feel like you’d get more value with your next option.


Speaking of your next option, the Pro plan is recommended by the platform for groups and organizations. But I really recommend it to anyone who wants to make the most out of a basic Weebly subscription. Unlike the previous plan, you’ll have a lot more functionality and better access to your website’s customizability on this plan.

It costs $144 annually or $18 a month. In my opinion, this is still relatively affordable. It’s a good choice for you if you want to build professional websites to gain clients. It comes with a free domain with a $20 value and $100 in Google Ads credit.

If you haven’t given Google Ads much thought yet, you definitely should. It’s a lucrative way for you to raise visibility when done correctly. Another advantage this option has over the previous two is the fact that you will be able to remove Weebly ads. You’ll also gain access to the site search feature which I think is a nice add-on.

There’s more you can do when you’re subscribed to this plan. That includes access to phone support which you didn’t have with the previous two. It should be a huge factor unless you want to be able to reach the customer support team quickly.

Let’s take a look at what you can do with the Pro plan: 

  • Sell products - This plan comes with a shopping cart feature. So your customers or clients will be able to make payments through Square or other third-party providers like Paypal or Stripe. At only $18 a month or $144 a year, I think that if you play your cards right, you can make over 100% ROI.
  • Track your website’s progress - the advanced site stats features shows you a detailed view of how well your website is performing. This will help you keep up with changes in customer behavior and determine which areas of your website need the most work. Overall, you should never take analytics for granted.


I personally recommend choosing this plan over the previous two if you want to get the most out of your money. You’ll have all the basic functionalities to run a blog and online portfolio. But you’ll also be able to look into new business opportunities by adding an online store to your website.


This plan is a great option for small businesses and stores. You’ll have nearly everything you need to run a successful small business for only $300 a year or $35 on a monthly billing cycle. You will obviously have access to all the other functionalities the previous three plans offer.

But you will also be able to use more powerful tools like adding item badges and options. You’ll also have access to the automatic tax calculator tool that streamlines your entire seller experience. Furthermore, you’ll have access to advanced eCommerce statistics which will help you re-evaluate your products and your marketing strategy.

Here’s everything you can do on the plan: 

  • Manage your inventory - the inventory management tool is handy and gives you a quick insight into how many stocks you have. Furthermore, this also minimizes the risk of overselling products when you don’t have enough in your inventory to meet demands.
  • Offer discounts and coupon codes - all customers love to be offered a good deal every once in a while. It encourages customer retention. And it also helps you entice new buyers. You’ll be able to create unique coupon codes and offer Square gift cards.
  • Collect item reviews - social proof is one way to increase your buyership. Collecting reviews for your products from previous buyers will help paint a clearer picture of your offers and how it can benefit anyone considering going through the checkout process.
  • Create pop-up notifications - Pop-ups are a great way for you to get your customer’s attention. You’ll be able to create various pop-ups to coincide with your marketing campaigns. Some of the most popular pop-up choices are discount notifications or sign-up forms.


All in all, this plan is a great option for you if you really want to be able to maximize the potential of your business. It’s good for anyone who wants to make sure their small business has everything it needs from the get-go. Its features are great, and allow you to raise your web authority and popularity with your viewers.

Just make sure you’re following content marketing strategies for your website and brand so you can maximize your return of investment. Otherwise, all the tools in the world won’t help you make a sale or increase customer retention.

Weebly names this plan as the best option for power sellers and the main reason is because it has functionalities that will help you scale your business. It’s the platform’s most expensive plan at $456 each year or $46 a month. So I know that it sounds incredibly expensive.

But if you really think about it, the ROI would be much, much higher if you’re able to put in enough effort. After all, your business will not run itself; although that is the dream. One of the biggest differences between the plus plan and the regular business plan is the email marketing feature with a $96 value.

This allows you to set up more complex campaigns without having to rely on a third-party application subscription. It also adds a whole roster of other features that help you keep your customers up-to-date and happy with your services like track real-time shipping updates.

Here’s what you can do on this plan:

  • Send abandoned cart emails - if you’re seeing a lot of uncompleted checkouts, you really should look into sending abandoned cart follow-ups. Studies show that this is one of the most effective ways for you to increase your conversion rates with leads that are already obviously interested in your product.

When you’re using this feature, make sure that you invest in an effective copywriter. It’s important to create the right email to convince your potential customer to cross the threshold. But more than that, you should also look into giving them something in return. Like a discount, or a trial purchase. 

  • Create complex email marketing campaigns - you’ll be able to build and send out newsletters and funnel emails to your lead database directly on the Weebly platform. I think that it’s quite a great change of pace since it can get annoying when you have to switch between apps just to sync your mailing lists or create and schedule your emails.


The business plus plan is a great choice for you if you want to have access to email functionalities without having to rely on a third-party provider. This also gives you access to other email marketing tactics like abandoned cart emails that remind interested leads to complete their purchase.

All in all, I think it’s worth your while if you really want to be able to have nearly everything your business needs on a single platform. It’s quite expensive. But if you’re playing your cards right, you will be able to make over twice what you put into your website costs.

  • You’ll have access to plenty of templates
  • It has eCommerce capabilities
  • The business plus plan offers email marketing features
  • There are plenty of widgets and plugins to choose from
  • The free plan offers a good feature set

Despite its best efforts, there will still be many reasons why a platform isn’t right for you. Let’s take a quick look at all the reasons that this website builder isn’t the right choice for you:


  • Some of its premium plans might be too expensive
  • The cheapest plan only has basic functionalities and it still runs Weebly ads
  • It’s not designed for large enterprises
  • Some of the plans limit the number of products you can showcase at a time 

Weebly pricing: which should I choose?

The main thing you need to think about is the feature set you’re getting with each plan. Sure the cost might factor into the equation too. But if you’re only going to use that as your base for consideration, then you might not have everything you need to run your website smoothly.

I recommend setting aside enough funds to cover the annual billing cycles. The reason why I say this, is because the prices are more reasonable when you factor in the discount. When you select monthly billing, it feels a little overpriced to me; especially with the more expensive plans.

All in all, the choice is yours to make, whichever plan you choose, just know that you can always cancel or upgrade anytime you want.

Take a good look at what each of your options offer before you jump the gun though. It’s not worth wasting your effort only to find out you picked the wrong one.
