400 dollars is not a small chunk of change you can earn magically in a single day. Although, I’m not telling you that there aren’t ways you could earn 400 bucks quickly.

The catch is that most of them are scams or involve the need to invite others into a pyramiding scheme where you’re essentially an accessory to the crime of conning other people.

You don’t want that, do you?

Great. If you want to learn how to make 400 dollars in a day, here are the best ways you can make some legit money from home.

Can I make 400 dollars a day at home? Is it really possible?

Everything is possible if you put your mind and soul into it. Let me tell you, I wasn’t anywhere near where I am now ten years ago. In fact, you could say I started from the very bottom with very little idea of how I could reach my goals.

I was stuck grinding at a classic office job for nine hours each day expected to work overtime at least once a week. And guess what? I was nowhere near where I wanted to be financially. To make matters worse, I was gradually slipping into a burnout stage in my early 20’s.

How to Make 400 Dollars In a Day

The kicker? I was severely underpaid considering the amount of stress I had to go through on a daily basis.

Sadly, there weren’t many people like me back then who legitimately wanted to help others get through this stage of their lives. Although you’d often encounter old acquaintances who got sucked into pyramiding schemes trying to get you in just so they could get a quick buck.

Lucky for you, I’ve vowed to make the internet a better place to find resources to get you out of the rut I was in.

In this article, I’ll discuss with you some of the tried and true ways I’ve used to earn $400 a day.

Mind you, not all of these generated that amount for me daily. But that’s only because I focused on blogging and affiliate marketing.

However, if you were to select any of these other avenues and choose to pursue them exclusively, I’m more than confident that you’ll be able to find your way and reach your goals in no time.

How to make 400 dollars in a day? What are my options?

You could sell your kidney. I kid - of course, besides you only have so many organs worth that much to sell before you actually run out and won’t even have much use out of your money. Kidding aside, there are several legitimate ways you can make more than just a few bucks online.

And the best part about everything we’ll discuss today? It’s that most of them are quite possibly a great avenue for earning a recurring profit.

The secret? Hard work and perseverance. Of course, you also need to keep in mind that working smart is also a key factor that would contribute to your success.

Take a look at some of the side hustles that turned into full-time gigs for me in the long run.

Online consulting or coaching

Online consultants and coaches are steadily growing in popularity because let’s face it - most of your audience are online at any given part of the day. Another attractive aspect of this is that you’re also able to expand your customer base to reach potential clients outside of your city and even your country.

Online consulting or coaching

Before I go ahead, let me give you a quick run-through of what online consultants and coaches are.

Consultants and coaches are basically experts in a certain field. It’s not very different from traditional business gurus you’d meet with in offices. Except in this case, you’re able to schedule appointments anywhere you are. Plus, in some cases, there are opportunities for you to access their services at a much cheaper rate.

Now that we’ve established what you’re responsible for should you choose this path, let’s answer a few common questions I get asked regarding this profession.

How much do online consultants earn?

On average, digital coaches earn around $48 per hour. Now, this mostly covers the average SALARY of an online consultant. Meaning, if you don’t want to freelance or start your own consulting firm or business, you might look into applying for agencies to employ you.

This isn’t exactly a negative thing. You could still earn a lot of money working for an agency, and the great thing about it is that you don’t have to stress as much about seeking out clients. Why? Because you’ll get paid either way and usually, the company handles that for you.

Of course, if you plan to pursue it of your own accord, you could potentially earn more than just $48 an hour.

What’s the first thing I need to do?

My recommendation is to choose your niche. This will, of course, help you narrow down who you want to work with and of course, create your material. This is true regardless of whether you want to be employed or if you want to pursue a freelance position for this career

What do I need to prepare?

Patience and lots of it. Creating course material is no easy feat and it will consume a good chunk of your time. Not to mention hours upon hours of research, graphic design, working on your branding, and marketing.

You will need to be patient and learn to trust the process. Nothing comes easy especially if you want to earn the big bucks.

How do I succeed in online consulting and coaching?

First things first - are you sure you want to pursue this? That should be a question you ask yourself with all sincerity for the entire duration of this article. If there is even a small part of you telling you that you won’t be happy in this field, abandon it.

There are plenty of choices out there and you don’t want to be stuck with months of hard work only to decide that it isn’t your passion.

Now that you’re sure, follow these steps to become successful in the industry:

1. Find your unique selling proposition

What makes you and your services unique? Is it a free week? Is it the fact that you’ve compiled secrets that will help them out of a certain life stage that hasn’t been shared anywhere else? Whatever it is, make sure it’s valuable and that you yourself would be interested in it.

This is what will separate you from your competition and answer the question: why should your audience choose you?

2. Pick your platforms

There is absolutely no need for you to be on every social channel out there. Although this does widen your reach, if you’re running everything on your own, you might find that you’ll lag behind on everything instead of applying effective strategies to a select few.

My advice? Find out where your audience hangs out. This helps you narrow down the channels where you need to focus for a more effective marketing strategy.

3. Keep up with technological advancements

Not very tech-savvy? Now’s the time to keep up with the latest in digital entrepreneurship. Whether it’s discovering a way to automate some of your tasks or finding a site that helps you lessen your workload and become more efficient, go for it.

4. Always put your client’s interests at heart

Small or large, every client is important, make sure you listen to their needs and work very hard to meet them. I hate it when I discover brands that have grown exponentially only to find that they’ve significantly failed to follow through with their customer satisfaction.

Yes, it gets harder the more people you deal with, but that’s just business. You either cope with your growing audience or you continue to lower your standards which will only hurt your business in the long run.

Summary: Online coaching or consulting should be something you consider if you like to assist others in discovering their potential. I always thought of consultants as oracles. No, they may not be able to predict the future, but they can help you dictate how your future will look by employing the right strategies.

Affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketers are some of the most financially successful people on the internet.

Do you know why? Because their services extend to more than just promoting products. Instead, they give value to their audience as well as the businesses they work with.

affiliate marketing strategies_marketing channels_

You may be a little confused about what I’m talking about. All they’re doing is promoting links to certain products right? What’s so difficult and life-changing about that?

You see, unlike traditional promoters or advertisers of products and services, affiliate marketers bet the future of their business according to their image. Now, if they were to promote something that isn’t useful to their viewers or is sketchy at most, imagine how many people would believe them the next time they promote something?

Affiliate marketing relies heavily on your personal brand and the professional image you put out. This is mainly why many who pursue this field take the time to review everything they would like to network extensively.

So, what exactly is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is an agreement between a company and an individual where one is tasked to promote the products using a unique code or link. Every purchase will then earn either a set commission or a percentage of the sale made.

It’s a very lucrative business to get into especially if you want to invest your time into making a somewhat passive income. The great thing about it is that if you play your cards right, it’s definitely a viable avenue for earning a steady stream of passive income.

the beauty of affiliate marketing

But best of all, you’re not required to be online 24/7. You can log on for a few minutes each day only to complete your tasks or goals like engaging with your audience or posting content.

Before we move onto some of my top suggestions on how you can succeed as an affiliate marketer, let’s take some time to answer a few frequently asked questions about this career path.

How do I become an affiliate marketer?

The first step is to build your brand and your presenceOf course, you also need to consider which brands you want to become an affiliate for. I suggest taking the time to test out some services and products in your niche before applying to become an affiliate.

The main reason why I’m telling you to do this is because of one of my main principles. I never represent brands and companies that have poor business practices and ones that don’t provide any value to my audience.

This is very important if you want to build trust with your viewers. One mistake many newbie affiliates make is thinking they can just promote anything and everything without considering the repercussions it will have on their following.

Do I need training or experience?

No, you don't. You can go ahead and get started whenever and wherever as long as you are ready. Although I do recommend looking into how-tos just so you have a guide and know exactly what you need to before diving head first.

Of course, this doesn’t mean you should go into it blindly. Take your ignorance into account and put all of your efforts into researching ways you can effectively market products. I suggest looking into digital marketing resources to make the job easier for you.

Is it expensive? Will it cost me a lot of money at the beginning?

Not really, unless you choose brands that require a purchase or membership to be accepted into their affiliate program, Otherwise, there really isn’t much you need to do except consider purchasing your domain and have your website built.

Additionally, you should also factor in the costs of your marketing efforts. It doesn’t need to be expensive, as long as you choose the right avenues and you’re employing all the right strategies.

Is affiliate marketing a scam?

Definitely not. But you do need to be careful. There are a lot of non-paying affiliate programs out there and you don’t want to invest your time and efforts into companies and products that don’t have any profitability.

Basically, you need to be smart and weigh the pros and cons of the businesses you want to work with. There are plenty of resources on Google and a quick search will usually yield information on this if you’re double-guessing a partnership.

How do affiliates get paid?

Basically, affiliate marketing works when you get one of your viewers to use your code or link to purchase from a certain website or shop. You’ll gain a percentage or a set commission for each conversion and it all really depends on the program’s rules for when and how you can withdraw your earnings.

Although usually you’ll get paid through Paypal or get wired the money to your account.

How do I become successful as an affiliate?

The first step to affiliate success is choosing your niche and making sure you’re passionate about it. It’s not a requirement, but it certainly helps if you know what you’re talking about and if it genuinely interests you. Other than that, here are some of the ways you can virtually guarantee success in the field.

affiliate marketing process
Create valuable content

The kind of information and content you put out into the world matters. Let me say that again for the people in the back - think about what you’re putting out and if you would find value in it if you weren’t the one who made it.

The main reason why many people fail in content creation is because they don’t think about how valuable their final product is. The same goes for any business model. You can’t expect your product to gain an audience or become profitable if it’s worth nothing or doesn’t actually help solve an issue.

Before you publish anything, ask yourself this: will anyone benefit from what I’m sharing?

Track your progress

I’m not saying you have to check on your conversions every single minute. In fact - once a day will do. However, you do need to be aware of the campaigns that work and what your audience likes. Look into your marketing efforts as well as the response to your content. This will tell you exactly what works for your viewers.

This doesn’t mean you need to focus on your current audience and give up on gaining new ones, but it does give you an idea of what will interest your demographic more to save you from making progress in your efforts.

Research your products well

Your image and the trust of your viewers is the most important part of being a successful affiliate marketer. This is why you should spend time researching the products you promote. Make sure you are perceived as an expert in your field.

After all, why would people even consider what you’re promoting if you don’t know much about it? Shouldn’t they just look for information elsewhere?

Engage with your audience

And finally, keep a consistent line of communication with your followers. Make sure they know you’re invested in their needs and concerns. This will open them up to you and help them become more comfortable with the idea of spending their money on a product or service you recommend.

Think about it - would you buy from a salesman who only focuses on selling the products? Wouldn’t you be happier to part with your money if you knew that they actually cared about your needs?

Summary: Affiliate marketing is a really good avenue for earning money. And the possibilities are basically endless plus you get full control of your time and how you run your business or networking efforts. But more than that, you’re also able to work remotely from anywhere you want, whenever you want to. However, you will need to set aside a bit of time to figure out how you can churn out content consistently without losing its value.

Become a highly skilled freelancer

Freelancers are virtually everywhere these days. And why not? Freelancing allows you to work in industries you love without the suffocating effects of being employed under someone. This way, you’re essentially working with other people instead of for them.

You’re able to set your own fees. In most cases, you’re also able to set your own schedule and work at your own pace and comfort. But the most attractive thing about the freelancing industry is the fact that you’re also able to pursue any venture of your own accord.

There are a variety of niches you can choose. And while you’re not limited to one, it’s recommended that you stick to a single niche to grow your expertise and authority in it. After all, experience and skills are what give freelancers an edge over their competition.

So, what do freelancers do?

It all really depends on the niche you choose. Whether you want to be a social media manager, SEO specialist, or website developer, you’re responsible for providing a service as agreed upon by you and your client.

Usually, you get to decide your schedule and your rate so you need to do a bit of market research to make sure you’re not underpaying yourself.

Now that we’ve defined what freelancers do, let’s take a look at which freelancing jobs are most popular in today’s climate.

Writers are in high demand simply because there is a constant need for new content on a daily basis. But that also means highly skilled writers are needed more especially since the market’s saturation makes it easy for your content to get lost among others.

The solution? Putting out highly effective and search engine optimized write ups. Now, just because you’re a writer doesn’t mean you need to be knowledgeable in every field imaginable. In fact, it’s recommended that you stick to one or two niches so you don’t experience a burnout.

Plus, this also helps you polish your writing. Of course, you’re welcome to accept odd niches here and there as long as you’re confident you’re able to deliver to the best of your ability.

Take a look at the most popular niches in the writing industry:

  • Finance
  • Cryptocurrency
  • Technology or digital products
  • Digital marketing
  • Product reviews
  • Real estate
  • Blog writing
  • News article journalism
  • CBD and marijuana products
  • Online or alternative sources of income
  • Business and start-up

Of course, you can still choose to pursue niches outside of these choices. There’s always a market for certain topics. However, if you want to be a part of the bandwagon, these are currently the highest paying writing niches in the market.

Website developer

Web developers are in high demand for one very obvious reason - businesses need an online storefront and not everyone can or has the time to build and design a website. This is where web developers are needed.

Website developer

The thing about web development and design is that everyone can learn to do it. The only problem is that not everyone will be cut out for it. This is the main reason why most businesses opt to hire someone to take care of this end of their venture instead of wasting their time and efforts trying to make it work.

Here’s how you can become and succeed as a freelance web developer:

  • Pick a niche and familiarize yourself with the demands of its consumer base.
  • Practice your skills and show them off. Whether you’re building trial sites or entire ones for your own pleasure, just do it. It will be great material for your portfolio.
  • Keep up to date on the latest trends in technology and web design.
  • Learn how to communicate well with your clients.

Digital marketer

Ads are everywhere these days, and it can be tricky figuring out how to make them work. Not to mention the extra time needed to develop a strategy and to stick to it. After all, those banner ads you see every now and then aren’t the only ways you can widen your reach.

This is mainly why many business owners outsource their marketing experts. There are simply too many avenues and there’s not enough time to learn them all - that is, if you’re running a business.

If you choose to pursue digital marketing on the other hand, you should be able to organize your priorities so you’re better able to keep up with trends and the latest in your particular niche.

Digital marketers earn over $66k annually in the US on average. Of course, the more clients you book, the more likely you’ll be able to earn more than that especially if you’re considered an expert-level digital marketer.

Here’s a quick five-step plan to guarantee that you succeed in this field:

  • 1. Learn to read and leverage data. Analytics is there for a reason. If you’re not making use of it, then I’m sorry to say you’ll be wasting your and your client’s time.
  • 2. Invest in paid ads. There are many ways to advertise your services. Make sure you use this as your main portfolio as well. When your clients see how effective your ad campaigns are, they’re more likely to trust you and hire you.
  • 3. Utilize email marketing to its full advantage. Newsletters are one of your main sources of conversions and leads. Make sure you capitalize on this avenue and familiarize yourself with techniques to get higher conversions on this platform.
  • 4. Familiarize yourself with various platforms. Digital marketing is highly dynamic and requires a plethora of channels to find success. Make sure you’re familiar with all of them to give you an edge.
  • 5. Focus on your improvement. You need to be able to present yourself as an authority figure. This will show your clients that you are worth their time and that you are the right fit for the job.

How do I succeed as a freelancer?

There are a few tips I give anyone who wants to get started on freelancing no matter what career you choose to pursue.

The first is that you need to choose a path. Pick out a niche and stick to it until you’re an expert in it before you consider adding more work into the mix.

Second, make sure you do market research. Learning about anything and everything in your field will help you gain the trust of your clients and justify that you are worth the payment you’re asking for.

And finally, keep on improving yourself. Any career is continuously changing and you can never truly say you’ve learned everything there is to know about it. Make sure you set aside time to learn about new things and apply them as needed until you succeed.

Summary: Freelancing is a great way to explore career choices you’re passionate about without having to work under an employer-employee setup. This gives you complete autonomy over how much you want to charge as well as full control of your time and the pace in which you want to move forward. But most importantly, you’ll be able to choose who you want to work with.

Summary: Can I earn 400 dollars in a day?

There is no reason to think that you can’t reach your financial goals. Truly, the question is - are you willing to do what it takes to earn a steady stream of 400 dollars every day?

400 bucks isn’t cheap, and you shouldn’t expect it to just magically appear at your doorstep unless you happen to stumble upon precious jewels or a long lost family relative tells you that you’re adopted and are actually a royal. But that’s all fantasy, am I right?

Some people will even tell you that you can earn that much today without selling your internal organs or most of your stuff. But you open yourself up to the risk of getting scammed or scamming others just to earn your share of the world’s wealth.

To sum it up, you’re better off earning money the hard way. But that doesn’t mean you have to break your back doing it.

The methods I listed above work. And you will need to be diligent about it, but you’ll also have full control over your work and where you want to do it.

For me, being able to travel anywhere I want or being able to show up to work (five feet from my bed) in my pajamas is the best feeling ever. But it’s even more so satisfying when you know that you’re earning 400 dollars on a daily basis from it.

A word of advice; before you choose to pursue anything based solely on the monetary compensation, take a look at its long-term effects. Will you be happy years from now in that field?

If not, don’t quit your day job just yet.
