ClickMagick and Voluum are two ad tracking programs that measure how many clicks your ads are getting on social media networks, search engines, and websites. They can help you see how much traffic is coming in from your ads.

But many of you have been asking where I stand in the ClickMagick vs Voluum debate.

So let's take a closer look at both platforms to see which one's right for you.

If you've already decided to get any of these tools, just click the button below to try it for free.

What is ClickMagick?

ClickMagick has been around since 2014, and it helps you find out how your ad campaigns are performing. For example, you can use it to track how many times each ad has been clicked, how many times people have visited your website after clicking your ads, and which ads on social media get the most clicks.

ClickMagick vs Voluum

It's a good option for you if your ads are driving a high amount of traffic, because it will give you a lot of data. It helps you analyze this data and learn about your campaign performance.

ClickMagick also tracks the performance of your ads across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google. You'll get all this information in real-time so you can check out exactly where visitors are coming from in order to tweak your campaign to get more clicks.

Additionally, you can track how your website performs overall. So if you have multiple landing pages, ClickMagick will help you see which ones are performing best so you can direct more traffic to them.

ClickMagick also has some really cool features that will help boost your ad performance. For example, it tracks the engagement rate of your Facebook ads to make sure they're getting enough likes and shares.

What is Voluum?

Voluum has come a long way in a short amount of time. Their program helped you track data from social media, show ads, analytics, and search engines when it first launched. Since then, they've added a lot more features to their platform to make it even more user-friendly.

It's an ad tracking tool that lets you measure the performance of your social media ads, but it also tracks websites that you have linked up. It has a wide range of features such as measuring the average number of clicks per visit, the number of continuous visits for certain campaigns and more.

If you're looking for a conversion tracking tool that monitors not just the number of clicks your ad receives but the amount of conversions that follow, Voluum is a good choice. It tracks how many people click on your ad and then go on to complete a desired action such as making a purchase or filling out a contact form.

What makes ClickMagick different?

ClickMagick has been around longer than Voluum, so it's probably more established. It's doing really well with customers - they currently have a rating of 9/10 on TrustRadius, a website that collects reviews about various software to help businesses grow. In fact, many people say it's the best ad tracking solution available.

So what makes ClickMagick so great? First of all, it lets you connect to Instagram and track clicks from ads on this network. This way you can make sure your ads aren't getting lost among all the noise on Instagram and still get the clicks they deserve.

ClickMagick also tracks the clicks your ads get on Facebook and Twitter. It lets you measure the performance of each ad by how many people click them and what happens after that. That way, you can see which ads are getting more clicks, which ones are performing well, or which ones aren't doing much at all.

ClickMagick will show you which ads people click on Facebook, but it will also show you how often they click on each ad and what happens after they do. Plus, you can see the average amount of time spent on Facebook after clicking your ads.

There are many more features that make ClickMagick really great - it not only lets you track clicks from Instagram ads but also Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google campaigns; and it allows you to track clicks from programmatic advertising networks like AppNexus.

When you should choose Voluum

If you have your own ads on social media like Instagram or Facebook, and you're looking for an ad tracking tool to monitor these campaigns, then Voluum is a good choice. It gives you all the tools and features that ClickMagick has, but it also allows you to track clicks from social media ads and websites.

It's not just about tracking clicks though— Voluum is a full-service tracking system with features such as link tracking. You can use it to track links from your Facebook or Twitter ads. So if you have an ad that sends traffic to a Facebook page or a particular website, you can use Voluum to find out which of these links people are clicking.

How do they work?

Here's how both programs work:

They'll analyze your website's pages to see if they're getting any traffic. If so, they'll track the social media ad traffic in real-time. They'll then analyze the search engine traffic by checking for keywords, contacting ads, and more. Then they'll use all of this data to make sure your website or ads are getting targeted traffic.

The best part is that you don't need to be online to see how your ad campaigns are tracking. In fact, you can access real-time data from anywhere so you can check out your data on the go.

What you should consider before choosing one

Now that you have an idea of what ClickMagick and Voluum offer, let's think about which one is the best choice for your company. To help you decide, here are a few questions that may help assess whether or not one of these tracking solutions is right for you:

Do you need to track clicks from ads on social media? If so, then Voluum is a great choice.

Do you need to track links to website pages in your ads? Then ClickMagick would be a good fit.

Do you want to track data from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and more? Then ClickMagick is a good option.

Do you have ads on multiple networks? If so, then ClickMagick would be the best choice.

Have you been using Voluum for quite some time? If so, then it's time to consider ClickMagick. If not, then it's not worth switching to ClickMagick just because it will now allow you to track clicks from ads on Facebook.

Do you want to track clicks from Instagram? Then ClickMagick is the way to go.

Do you need more than one data source? If so, then ClickMagick is a good choice.

Have you been using ClickMagick for quite some time? If so, then it's time to consider Voluum. But if not, then it's not worth switching to Voluum just because it will now allow you to track clicks from ads on social media.

Are you looking for a full-service tracking tool, not just an ad click tracker? Then Voluum is the way to go.

Do you want to track data from Pinterest? If so, then ClickMagick is the best choice.

Remember that before choosing one of these ad tracking tools, you need to take advantage of their free trial versions. The trial period will allow you to see and experience how these ad tracking solutions work on your campaigns and whether or not they are compatible with your existing tech stack.

Voluum vs ClickMagick feature comparison

It's now time to compare the features of Voluum and ClickMagick side by side, so you can choose the best one for your business. I took the time to test all key features to give you a good idea of what you should look for. Let's take a quick look:

Social media tracking

Let's take a quick look at each ad tracking solution's social media tracking functionality.

Voluum tracks all of your Facebook campaigns, whether they are conversion campaigns (e.g. leads) or engagement campaigns (e.g. comments). You can also track Facebook clicks using links, videos, and other types of ads that you may already be running on your Facebook page or website.

Voluum Social media tracking

But what if you're also running Facebook ads for your Instagram page or to drive mobile app downloads? If so, then you'll want to use ClickMagick. It automatically tracks these campaigns, so all you have to do is monitor the performance of them on the admin dashboard.

And the platform doesn't just track clicks and conversions from Facebook - it also supports YouTube advertising for conversions and engagement. You can enter YouTube links or generate short links for your YouTube videos to track conversions and engagements from these sources.

Click tracking

Both platforms support a variety of input channels like Facebook, YouTube, and Google search. Both platforms can also detect if you are running one of these campaigns from within Voluum or ClickMagick. And both platforms will only track specific actions that occur on the target website.

Voluum supports a limited set of DOM elements as input channels for Web analytics. This sets them apart from ClickMagick, which supports all HTML tags and all HTML DOM elements; whereas ClickMagick also allows you to run JavaScript tracking codes directly in your website's code.

When considering these things, it's important that you understand the difference between analytics and tracking; and that ClickMagick is used for both.

ClickMagick is a full-featured JavaScript library that allows you to do all kinds of interesting things with DOM elements. It allows you to count the click events, then compare those counts to a limit value. And it has features like "live counting" that takes into account previous values and differences between pages visited by visitors when counting.

Track entire sales funnels

Both platforms have the supported features needed to track entire sales funnels like Google Analytics, but ClickMagick does an even better job than Voluum.

To start, you need to connect ClickMagick to your website using their JavaScript code. Then you can start tracking visitors who come from ads or social media. If these visitors purchase a product or service on your website, then ClickMagick will automatically capture that as well.

But ClickMagick also allows you to capture leads, calls, and other forms of marketing activity as well; all from the same place. This way your sales funnels are all tracked in one place!

Shopify tracking

Shopify is a popular e-commerce platform and ClickMagick not only supports it but can also track all the traffic your store receives from social media like Facebook and Twitter. So all you have to do is add the <script> code and it will track clicks from your campaigns on Facebook or Twitter.

And if you're using ClickMagick with Shopify, all your activities will be tracked both online and within your Shopify e-commerce store.

As a Shopify app developer, this is definitely one of my favorite features of ClickMagick; because as a developer, I can see the traffic that comes from app installs within my e-commerce stores.

Cross-device tracking

Another great feature that ClickMagick has is cross-device tracking, which is good for retargeting potential customers who have already visited your website. That way you can show them ads on other devices like their smartphone or tablet.

Comprehensive data collection

Here's something else to consider - all of the clicks from a certain ad campaign will be collected by both platforms and then ultimately delivered to ClickMagick's analytics portal. On the other hand, Voluum collects all this data in the cloud and it's up to you to download and analyze it.

Voluum Comprehensive data collection

That's a key difference between ClickMagick and Voluum. But on the other hand, I think ClickMagick is better for app developers - it's a great way for them to track app installs. And it also allows you to send data into the mobile analytics platform App Annie to get more detailed insights about app installs; whereas Voluum only gives you data about ad clicks.

Data segmentation

What segmentation is, is the ability to send more traffic to different landing pages based on information collected from a visitor during a browsing session. And when comparing ClickMagick vs Voluum on this matter, two things are clear: ClickMagick gives you more granular control over visitor activity while Voluum doesn't have the same kind of options for segmentation.

Data collection

ClickMagick has a built-in, fully functional analytics dashboard that allows you to see the performance of your campaigns in real-time. That way you can get instant feedback about which of your Facebook or Twitter ads is doing better.

This helps you fine tune your campaigns to increase conversions and improve ROI. Plus, it's a great way for you to make sure the ads aren't getting lost among all the noise on Instagram and still get the clicks they deserve.

Voluum on the other hand, only gives you basic analytics that gives you a high level view of your campaign performance. This is okay when you only have one ad campaign; but it's less than ideal if you have many campaigns like ClickMagick does.

Reporting

Reports are something that ClickMagick offers, but Voluum doesn't. Reporting is a great feature for more advanced users who want to see the performance of their campaigns over time. This is very useful for managing the lifetime value of your ad spend and comparing it to other channels.

Affiliate tracking

Affiliate marketing is the easiest way to generate leads and grow your business. It's not just about making sales; but is also about getting new customers who will buy from you in the future.

Some of these customers will come from your affiliates, and if you want to track their sales, then ClickMagick is a good choice. As an affiliate marketer, you can get a lot of value out of the platform's affiliate campaign tracking features.

User Interface

The user interface in ClickMagick has a modern, clean feel to it. And their developers are constantly improving it, so expect to see more features and updates in the future! On the other hand, Voluum's user interface is much more "bare bones" compared to ClickMagick; which means it's not as intuitive to use. But this isn't a big deal if you only need to track ad clicks.

Pricing plans

Both Voluum and ClickMagick are quite expensive in my opinion. In case you're wondering whether or not ClickMagick is really a better choice than Voluum, let's take a quick look at their pricing plans.

ClickMagick pricing plans

ClickMagick starts at $37 a month while Voluum starts at $97. Both of them also offer free trials that you should look into before making a choice. There are three plans for each platform to choose from, and they're all pretty solid. You may want to consider your budget before making a final choice, though.

ClickMagick vs Voluum: which is better?

After checking out ClickMagick vs Voluum, my final choice would be ClickMagick. Why?

Because it offers a full-service tracking and analytics platform, while also including some really cool features like Google Analytics integration and split testing to help you improve your campaigns' performance. You can use the trial period to try both ClickMagick and Voluum within your website. That way you can compare each service before making your final choice.
